Xbox 360 awesome games time

I'm pretty much retiring from video games until FFXIII and Resident Evil 5 come out.

Yeah, but FF13 won't be out until 2010... in english, and that's only the PS3 version - the 360 version is probably even further off as supposedly they're not starting work on that until the PS3 JPN version is done...

The 360 version will be released the same day as the PS3 version. This was confirmed back in July when Capcom announced FFXIII for the 360. I don't give a flying fuck about FFXIII though. I'm not a big fan of big swords and spikey hair.

Ah, you appear to be right - originally I had read that due to when they were going to start working on it, it would be later, but, considering it's only going to be in English for the 360, this makes sense when they are localizing it for the US market on PS3.

Have you seen the new trailer? Not much spiky hair, and I don't recall any big swords...

No spikey hair, but I do recall one sword with lightning coming from it and a bunch of people screaming, fighting through hordes of giant scorpion robots, and running around as if they were ADHD. It was stressful just watching the trailer. But then again, I've never been a big FF-fan. Or in other words I've never understood why people find these games any good. But that's just me and taste can't be discussed. However I will high-five Square Enix for releasing hardcore games, instead of succombing to casual gaming.

Yeah! And it has SixAxis control-stuff... something.

Castle Crashers is a really fun xbl arcade coop game. You can play online but it's better with real life friends. another xbl arcade game you have to play is Braid. amazing, headache inducing game.

cod4 and halo are quality online experiences.

Also, get Earth Defense Force for offline co-op. It's Serious Sam meets Mars Attacks, but with character levelling & loot drops. Totally awesome.

Braid is like the best game I've ever played.

Fucking A. I've been touting Braid's praises for months now. I could write a fucking essay on how it's one of the only games that actually utilizes video games' interactivity to create a unique type of narrative, while every other game out there with a "story" is pretty much just playing a game and watching a shitty movie in shifts.

I'll be honest. For me, Braid's genius lies entirely in its puzzles. If you got every single puzzle piece, and then went on to find all of the game's secret stars (something that probably VERY, VERY few people have done without cheating), you can notice that Braid is a work of genius, entirely for these reasons. The secret stars put everything else in the game to shame puzzle-wise, and they have made me use my brain more than I ever have in a non-academic setting.

In short, I don't care much about story in a game (and to me, the story in Braid was pretty confusing and kinda too artsy for me)...but the puzzles. Jesus man. I hope sooo bad that somebody takes this idea and makes thousands more of the same quality.
