what's good about Camden? fucking loads - the whole place basically feels like a 24/7 festival, there's a wicked party atmosphere (especially at the weekend), the markets have lots of really cool stuff, you can buy magic mushrooms and wander about laughing at things, everyone ishappy and friendly.....what's not to like?

Yes, if you like being harrassed by dealers and crusty old punks flyering shit nights seconds after you arrive, then Camden is the place for you. Don't forget to pick up your bootleg Linkin Park t-shirt on the way out!

To be fair some of the pubs/markets are OK, but it's mainly tawdry shite in my opinion. The only happy people there when it's not nighttime are 17 year old baggy jeaned tourists

Having lived in South London for my entire life I too don't see how people can hate the place, although you do get a sense that the people of London do hate you that little bit more compared to other areas of the UK.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

Camden Market is shit. It's entertaining the first time you go but it's just crap T-Shirts and crap illumines shit everywhere

Chalk farm up the road is really good.

There's a great pub called the enterprise, afterwards everyone goes to the kebab shop next door which has a weird club in the back where everyone drunks till 5am

Man knows his onions.

Do a Fulham home match, only prem club you'll get tickets for.

Outside the Tate modern theres a man who makes budgies dance while he sings a song about himself being the Budgieman.

Get a boat that serves alcohol and drink your way round the Thames.

Go to Bangface. I feel like an lecherous old cunt in there these days when all I can see are embryos, but its worth a visit.

Dont go to Camden, its a fucking grief hole.

I can't believe all this Camden hate - it's fucking wicked and definitely somewhere you should see if you've never been to London before. I go up there with my girlfriend (who absolutely loves Camden) every couple of weeks and it never ceases to make me smile - I haven't seen a weed dealer on the streets for months (not that that was ever a problem anyway, they weren't at all pushy) but I think they've cracked down on them all....

everyone I've ever taken has fucking loved Camden. my mate used to have a flat right in the centre and I used to go out there every weekend - it's got really cool nightlife and so many wicked places to to out.

stop being such a bunch miserable cunts will you - Camden is awesome end of story.

I'd say it's worth bringing a new visitor to London, to Camden. Have a pint in the lock and do the walk along the canal to Little Venice.

Have you been to that Kebab shop a bit further up the road from Camden Market that has a bar in it? i think it's called millennium or something. it's full of nutters. i've had so many good night there

Creation on Great Russell Street WC1 - doing a valentine's special for £38.50 a head with a free glass of champagne - good service, trendy food etc... if not going on valentine's day then normal a la carte menu - mid range price wise....a meal for two with starters, dessert and wine etc will come to about £100

Fifteen is fucking amazing if you feel like splashing out (when I went it came to about £250ish for two)

Gazette in Balham is very nice French Brasserie style - always liked the food I've had in there and really friendly people (£75 - £100 for two with wine, starters etc)

Trinity in Clapham Old Town is really good, but popular and often booked up (£75 - £100 for two with wine and starters etc)

The Covent Garden Grill is really nice for steaks and the like - also very good service and reasonable prices (£50 - £100 for two depending on what you have)
