Guest Babar
two scientific fact about UFOs : -serious UFO witnesses started just in 1947, just around trinity site. -THe GEIPAN (the french ufo study group) has done some statistics about the matter. They revealed ufo were like attracted by radioactivity. So yeah, i think there is one only phenomenon behind what we call UFO. Some people says they are aliens, and some others says they are secret weapons. I choose option 1, because i can't imagine a government developping secret weapons of such a prospect without using them. that's just nonsense. Yes yes yes, i think U.S.A are hidding something behind their back because they do not have any (public and official)agency studying the matter contrary to most advanced countries like brazil, chine, and most of the european countries. The whole tell-me-you've-seen-an-ufo-then-i-tell-you-you're-crazy is just an orthodoxy established by the blue book project in people's mind during the 50's. It was misinformation. However i can understand people who remain sceptic about UFOs. They need to see it in order to beleive. I've seen. I believe. awesomeperson
In the small chance of a foreign civilization finding us they would most likely send pobre spacecrafts, non tripulated ships, robots with advanced AI, nanotech devices to capture and record our cultures but small enough to pass through wormholes if viable, there's no point in sending live stock to do such huge travels when they don't have nothing to learn from us, a civilization capable of bending space and travel between galaxies would be more likely interested in black holes, exploring the multiverse, finding civilizations at the same level as they are to join forces into understanding the reason we're here. At the same time maybe they're already here with the objective of categorizing and mapping all "intelligent" civilization in the Universe so UFO's can actually be space probes. Popular culture sees aliens as humanoids at the same level as we are but with just more advanced tech which is a completely wrong way of seeing advanced type II and III civilizations. Here's a good link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scale And of course read anything you can from Michio Kaku. lumpenprol
"This is standard launch sequence of Russian Soyuz space rocket. There you see multiple trail of first stage booster engines (there are four of them); they are stopped (and jettisoned), and then after few seconds there is an ignition of the single booster second stage. Spiral look comes from slow rotation of the second stage around its axis, which is normal." Guest Rambo
I suppose i believe in aliens. I don't know whether any have been here, but it wouldn't really surprise me. The only thing that would convince the world of aliens being here would be something completely formal i think. No other kind of evidence could convince everyone, that's just the nature of it. In fact, even if a planned meeting between another civilisation and the U.S government took place with CNN there filming it live, there would still be a small number who genuinely believed it was some sort of lie. Guest MajaIloveyou
The pascagoula 1979 case is very interesting, it's my favorite abduction case. The aliens had elephant-like skin, spikes on their heads, no eyes and tiny mouths. very interesting descriptions. it's also very likely to be true, when you read all the aftermath. Dementia
If there were another technologically advanced civilization, capable of interstellar space travel, what does this then mean? Borrowing from Sagan, the mere discovery of a star faring civilization would serve as a sort of existence theorem--that because there exists a species that overcame its own technological adolescence is it much more likely that humans can avoid their own self-destruction and achieve a higher civilization type. "Finding a solution to a problem is helped enormously by the certain knowledge that a solution exists." Thus is it likely that there exist other worlds on which conditions are suitable for the emergence of life, simply because we know that life exists on our own planet. However, neither is there any evidence to support the claim of technologically-advanced extraterrestrial life nor is its discovery something in which we should be investing so much energy. It seems to me that the majority of those whose time is deeply vested in uncovering the "truth" of alien abductions (it's possible that this may be linked to patients who awaken during the effects of sleep paralysis that sets in during REM sleep) and UFO sitings are people who wish deeply to confront a "godfather" civilization--a nurturing, kind, mother-like savior-race of infinite understanding that will ultimately identify our wrongs and set us on the right path. And, it strikes me that that same longing to believe in a superior intelligence that can correct our errors is also so characteristic of people who would believe that the universe was created by an entity, conscious and caring of our existence. I tend to give a far different answer, that instead we are our own masters, ultimately responsible for the destiny of humankind and that there exist no other intelligences interested in our success. It poses particularly impractical that we should sit and wait for an answer to our problems. Let us first master our own planet before we venture out into the vastness of space.
