i'm kind of a mellow person, drinking alcohol or smoking weed just kills me, i get sleepy and it's boring. so i don't drink nor smoke anymore (it's been like 2 years probably)

booze

neither.

If you had asked me a few years ago, I would have said weed but now I'd go with booze.

It's definitely dependent on the situation, but I just have more fun with booze. A lot of my friends are "growing up" or have jobs they get tested for so I don't have many people I can share smoking with any more. It has become a very solitary drug for me. And when I do it's usually people that aren't motivated to do anything once they start smoking so I end up watching TV which is super boring. I also had to deal with the panic attack issues and get a serious weed hangover as the effects wear off, limiting me to late night smoking on weekends pretty much.

Whereas I can drink like a champ and go out and lose my inhibitions and feel confident and charming. When I'm drunk and get my confidence up I can be the center of attention with ease (for better or for worse) whereas this is less true with weed. On a business trip, booze can get me through otherwise miserable experiences. Drinking has also helped me get laid way more than weed ever has, so I gotta give it credit for that.

So while I love both and would be hesitant to give up either one, alcohol would be the winner for me.

re: strong weed and paranoia... these high yield growing practices which increase THC levels also reduce CBD levels (naturally occuring anti-psychotic in the plants.).. these plants are bred to concentrate on producing THC only.

in other words a naturally grown plant gives you something to get you stoned, along with something to keep the edge off... greedy growers are removing the balance of the plant for super steroid strains which are more likely to damage the young and those prone to mental illness.

ugh... if you can do it, great, but that's a sure-fire ticket to spin city for me, followed by a stop in vomit town.

i like em both. weed is really pleasurable but alcohol is more 'fun'. weed has no real side effects for me which is a huge plus, though.

marijuana is my spiritual guide and teacher. alcohol is nice but i can't deal with the side effects anymore, so i usually have 1 beer or less.

they both have their own time and place

usually when that time and place coincides for both, sleepy-time is very shortly to follow.

plants left to grow naturally will produce thc and cbd in given proportions. coincidence or not it just happens that somehow cbd counteracts the more undesireable effects that thc can have on the brain. a generous little plant eh?

growers tweak the natural genetic makeup, the plant is basically forced to put all it's resources into producing thc at the expense of the cbd's... so it gets you royally stoned and sells well for the dealers.. but it's a much edgier stone without that inbuilt leveller.

i stopped more than 4 years ago before knowing about all this stuff but it makes so much sense, cos i just wasn't enjoying smoking the mutant crap that was everywhere, and it became increasingly hard to buy something grown respectfully, like i had been used to for well over 10 years. even my most discerning guys stopped getting their usual organic supply cos this stuff's faster, bigger, stronger, and fucking coated in crystals...

personally i never had problems with paranoia or anything too adverse but i've watched close mates, experienced smokers (lol) get increasingly fucked up over time, and they're blindly devoted to the smokers life, and probably always will be... i've seen occasional or first time dabblers reduced to sobbing wrecks with panic after a harmless wee sesh. - these people should just learn to never touch the stuff ever again.

i guarantee if i lived somewhere i could grow my own with kosha seeds, i'd still enjoy a smoke now.

there's a good documentary explaining all that thc v. cbd stuff, i'll try and find it for you.

ive done way too many things on liquor...i just needed to cool it...and i think i damaged my liver from drinkin doin blow and all that...whenever i drink now, even just two beers or so it makes me feel sick, which indicates to me that my body cant really process alcohol like it used to....so i steer away from it....but oh man so many bad ideas mistakes drunk.
