with you on this one Velazquez - mate has this on DVD (it may still be in my possession come to think of it) and has been given a good blast on the 42" on many a late night session. The classic sound of the Ferrari V12 is motor music.

They used the Alfa V8 in the 275 GTB, the chassis couldn't handle the power of the original V12 Ferrari lump intended, as to my knowledge they never solved the problem, this isn't hard fact though, maybe that is the V12 but as far as I'm aware it never worked out.

As I say I could be wrong, can't be asked to look it up.

cars are have a bad rep as a diversion for either the redneck/chav lower classes or as status symbols for the rich, but for true enthusiasts, they are the best example of humans turning complex engineering into something not only functional, but beautiful and emotional. if you can't look at a 50s-60s era Ferrari and appreciate its beauty, in the way it looks, in its complex and precise engineering, and even in the sound that V12 makes, you're letting your preconceptions stand in the way of appreciating art.

in other words, cars are pretty IDM.

a quick google revealed nothing in regard to the Alfa engine, I know Enzo ferrari got his start there back in the day so i'd be suprised to see Ferrari use one of their engines.

Ah ok I'm probably wrong, its a discussion that took place on my forum, and the general vibe was the they used the Alfa V8 in the GTB, but as I say this was just a general discussion I don't think anyone really knew, I just made an assumption. Looking back on it my first post looks quite arrogant, sorry.
