so all the "new rock" stations are hyping that Trent is producing the new Jane's album. is that happening or is this another Tapeworm size failure?

god.. it was cool that eric avery rejoined janes last year, but if this is true, itll probably be shit. but itll probably be shit no matter who produces it...

I love the meathead perspective.

I used to be a huge NIN fan, and I still love everything up until the most recent album, "The Slip" which is pretty awful, but "Ghosts" was amazing, and "aWithaTeetha" held some weight with me. Maybe it's because it coincided with a turbulent point in my life...

I think he's doing the right thing. It really doesn't sound genuine at all anymore. I saw them live twice, both times were awesome, but the recent tour videos are painful to watch.

why does reznor hype these early janes/nin shows as changing the face of rock? he seems a bit full of himself..

i find myself overwhelmed by options, possibilities, ideas, worries in life. so i write a post about them, i try to precisely explain the option, the possibility, the idea, the worry. as i hear myself explaining it, often i have revelations that allow me to actually understand it.

i write a shitload on watmm, but there's much more i simply delete after i write. too personal.

I saw Janes Addiction with Primus and the Pixies back many moons ago in SF. Think it was around Christmas time? That should have been the trifecta of rock perfection but it wasn't quite that. Janes were the weakest of the three, Perry Farrell got really drunk and they were pretty sloppy. Janes was always better in-studio, Primus live, while the Pixies were good in both.

I actually like the leaked version of Janes' comeback album a lot, was much better than the final version that ended up too polished with too many solos. I think Perry Farrell was a true artistic soul at one point with a great knack for any sort of art, but he blew his mind out on drugs, oh well. They've still got rock juice in them.

he blew his mind on fame (which is most certainly a drug)

i still respect him for his contributions to culture tho...

I keep missing NIN tours, been a fan for 15 years and haven't been to a show. I should get on this...

Perry is one of the innovators in rock, no doubt. Personally, I really liked the output from Porno for Pyros better than anything Jane's or that other band, Satellite Party, I think he did.

Can't believe people are still interested in a Janes reform after the trainwreck that Strays was. Fuck that album was absolutely shocking.
