album art colors is a good idea ... i would say:

aphex - tan/yellow

autechre - silver

boc - turquoise

cylob - black

vibert - yellow

µ-ziq - brown

plaid - pink

sp - purple

plaid should be plaid

Aphex Twin - black and white

Autechre - silver

Boards of Canada - red

Cylob -blue and white

Luke Vibert - orange

µ-Ziq - glossy black

Plaid - plaid

Squarepusher - white, sea foam green

Seeing this thread's original date has made me sad.

i know, as a designer, you wouldn't want to copy anything but the Warp colors seem about right.

I think it's more a case of them seeming 'right' because of the fact they established them, and have been around for so long (barring the new WARP site, which I love to bits)

yea,, that has some to do with it but i always thought yellow was good for Aphex just because he's so in your face and flamboyant.. autechre as silver like metal and machines, boards as blue like the sky and distant atmosphere.

I think mostly that's ok but...

Aphex Twin should be a brighter, yellower beige colour kinda like the cover of SAWII

and Plaid should certainly be plaid if you are able to do that

Lastly Squarepusher needs to be purple. Like the bright purple that he puts on the covers of EPs like Venus No 17 and Port Rhombus

That's not "his" colour; that's the WARP Purple™ colour they use on generic releases (also see: GAK)

I already associate the colors Warp Records put to the Warp artists. So I'd go with those. For the non-warp artists, i don't care.
