Personally i just find it a huge buzz to have that much freedom.

 

plus you can use it to go beyond what you could do with turntables. like a hierarchy of needs-kind of thing.. if you don't have to worry about beat-matching, it frees you up to do more.

its fun to have that much freedom but at the expense of the sound quality. too often i hear people do abelton sets that are very dithered/granulated and time stretched sounding unintentionally from taking source tempos too far away from how fast they originally were

thats correct, but its strange i dont hear people doing this very often. Its much more common to hear something being time stretched to the brink than an actual resample
