Eminem - Relapse

saw a video of some really weak sauce from this album. the jokes werent funny, the beat was horrible and the rapper had a weird flow. i forget the name but it had some stupid singing chorus and mentioned amy and blake.

in short AWFUL

is this is first album since "the eminem show?"

Encore came out in 2004 - pretty damn forgettable IMHOP. Sounded like he was just bored with the whole game.

This one has a few of the "pop hit" tracks as described above, which are indeed pretty weak (though very catchy and Em's flow is always decent). The rest of the album is back to what feels like top form to me - good flow, inventive lyrics - dark and twisty like you like it.

a quick listen to the first single on youtube makes me want to check it out aaaactually

those first two (yes rap pedants i am aware slim shady was preceded by demotapes and sh*t) are good fucking albums though

and i can hear traces of that funny-ass nihilism that sorta evaporated after MM on this

pretty good so far. given dre's stylistic constraints it's always kind of impressive that he comes up with more beats. some of them are a little weaker on this album, and "my mom" sounds almost exactly like a watered-down version of "what's the difference?" from 2001.

still i think it has some of the flavor of marshall mathers and is pretty dark and i like it

i like eminem. fuck you guys.

break a bottle is weak cept for the procution, his other track, we made you, or whatever, ain't that bad. ain't great.

i grew up with em so i've always liked him..

love this album.. its so reminiscent of the dark moods of MMLP... insane flow all over..

i remember when "my name is" came out, it was so fucking original and refreshing, from the quirky beat to his lyrics to the mouthed sound effects after every stanza....

what the hell happened to him when he got all serious as shit fuck

skip forward to 2:09. now skip back to the start, and enjoy an excellent track.

people still care about Eminem??
