what bothers me is that people think he's smart

he is not smart, he stumbled across a clockwork orange and thought he'd fashion some ridiculous image from what he saw, he even started talking like little alex... "my bookywook" etc. i was almost embarrassed for him until i realised nobody noticed/cared that his persona is so totally and obviously contrived. He attempts to appear intelligent by using vocabulary that he obviously can't fully grasp. It's pathetic.
