what is your "staple" foods

Recommended Posts

Lots of cheerios and oatmeal. High fiber diet that's cheap and really counteracts the inherit unhealthiness of your average "budget" foods.

I like to eat loads of fresh fruit. I don't know if you have fruit stands or open air markets where you are, but around here there's tons and it's easy to get a box of mangos or oranges for only a few dollars. Tons of nutrients, delicious, and easy on the wallet.

How many non-meat eaters exist on watmm? I kind of feel like starting a poll.

Actually, someone else do it, I'm going to go get wrecked here in a minute.

what do you all eat on a regular basis that's some what cheap and i won;t die from malnutrition?

lettuce packages are usually 1.99 (you have your range from - romaine - spinach - arugula - butter - whatever floats your boat

packages of pasta usually are .99 (or sometimes cheaper) - if you get some tomato paste (.99) and some ground beef and since your a chef (you get the jist)

also chicken is the cheapest of the meats you'll get

also granola and yogurt are relatively cheap

milk and eggs seem to have gone down in price since the economy sucks

a half gallon is 1.49 and 12 large eggs are 1.79

and wow this post has been up on my computer for a while - i forgot to press reply hah

I eat cheerios and some raisins in the morning with a glass of pineapple/orange juice mixed. For lunch I eat some chicken soup, bread and then an apple. My dinner is horrible shit like bacon & eggs, burger & fries, steak, pork chops, etc.

Get a good chicken soup recipe. It's pretty cheap, healthier, and tastes a hell of a lot better than canned soup.

pasta/vodka or red sauce/chicken or occasionally shrimp

quesadillas (dilla rip)/tacos (chicken or beef + taco mix = easy.)

chicken and yellow rice, though not as much so recently

frozen burritos/ramen for snack/lunch

no cereal, no hot pockets, no microwave dinners; my eating habits have changed so much since meeting and living with my gf

pasta, sauce, cheap meat is a good start

I really don't like broccoli, my favourite veg are sweetcorn (on the cob pref.) and carrots.

corn is a starch and carrots a root.
