You'll be sleeping on your own tonight pet.

I make big batches of my own thai curry paste, and then use that as the basis for various currys, soups, fish cakes etc, and have a pretty much complete range of spices, homemade garam masala and ras el hanout... I have my store cupboard basics of rice, couscous, pasta, tinned veg and beans/pulses, and then just buy fish, meat and fresh veg when needed. And lots of tinned fish, cheap, quick and healthy protein fix.

kaka

sandwiches. with ham, bacon, beef tartar, salami, or tinned (or not) fish. cheese. lettuce or fresh herbs (just parsley or basil), tomatoes, etc. all the typical sandwich stuff but also pizza stuff. usually toasted. i find toasting the bread or the whole sandwich makes it better.

my usual meals are:

roast: roasted meat, potatoes and veg + gravy

all pasta dishes

curry (indian and thai).. also asian soups/stews.. curries can involve many things, tinned chickpeas and lentils are good to have around for them

stir-fried soft noodles, always with bean sprouts and egg + random other veg, with prawns or meat, onion, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, usually some curry paste .. good when you have like 10 minutes to cook and eat

cottage pie/Shepard's pie/moussaka

chili con carne for some reason

turkish dishes i don't know the name of

frittata: usually cauliflower, with like bacon or whatever in it, an alternative to omelette, oven baked

homemade pizza

i think if you try to mix up the ethniticity of your meals, providing you have time to do so, you shouldn't really miss out on much.

ruby red grapefruit juice mixed with seltzer water is the bomb.

or grapefruit juice with tequila and a little soda water.

currently cooking fusilli tricolore(rather than macaroni)-cheese with a mature dutch cheese and roquefort, onion, various mushrooms, parsley, mustard, lots of pepper, in an oven dish, adorned with sliced tomato, more cheese and 2 eggs that will cook in the oven

would be vegetarian but i'm having carpaccio as a starter
