is it hard for you to title tracks/releases?

Recommended Posts

Made a huge post about this in the other thread like this.

In short, use made up words that are pronouncable, and sound plausible.

Also something that could be pronounced several different ways.

A couple of my recent track names : (yeah they aren't great)

oh there are RULES for being pathetically imitative of RDJ/Autechre now?

seriously dude. shame - got any?

i find it quite hard to come up with track/release titles sometimes. i usually just use a play on words (eg. reals and dreamity, back to square wave one, easy glistening) or something cryptic to do with my thoughts that i don't want anyone to know, heh.

They need to meet password reliability tests and obscure at least one obvious word by misspelling.

its a pretty poor do when people need their hand holding through the track naming as well as the production part of making music

maybe you'd like us to come round your house and pick out your clothes for the day too?

is this directed at me? i didn't ask anyone to hold my hand through either track naming or production

awwwwwwwwww

Edited by THIS IS MICHAEL JACKSON

i named them how they made me feel, which perhaps didn't work as well if i would have named them all code like like ae and afx

The naming is always the worst part for me. I'd love to just attach no inherent imagery to it through an album cover or song title, but it makes indexing the music a nightmare.

Track titles generally aren't very important, but I think album/EP titles need to be pretty descriptive. I try to come up with a clever phrase or make up a word that sounds real, but isn't [ie. Synesthesiac: http://www.discogs.com/William-S-Braintree.../release/627507].

Or use text in more abstract ways.
