anyway, the reason why i'm posting is to ask if there are any programs with a feature similar to one in keykit, where you could give it two melodies/drum patterns, and over a pre-determined amount of measures, it would morph from one to the other. then you could save as a midi file afterwards. i might have to grab keykit again, but i remember it used to crash a lot on xp, so i'm not sure if it'll be stable in vista, heh.

you could probably work out a way to do this in bidule if you're willing to get your head around building a sequencer in bidule first.

I think you could make something like, have two sliders for each "hit," one setting where it is in the first pattern, and one for the second, then use a smoother to slowly the change between those values when you hit a button or something. building a sequencer in bidule can be kind of like, send out this trigger when a counter reaches this number, so if you change that number for each trigger gradually, you'd get it. you could probably get it working with a crossfader too and control the morph manually. it'd be more complicated for melodies or patterns with different amounts of hits but you'd probably discover other cool shit in the course of figuring out how to do that.

interesting. last time i checked out bidule it was in super early beta stage and i couldn't really figure anything out. maybe i'll give it another try.

it still has some way to go, but does have potential. I never thought of build a sequencer that could do that.... WOuld sound fucking cool if you just cycled it over 2 or 3 bars. Very Autechrey I'd imagine...

this is fun, it can do autechre style different-components-of-the-beat-speeding-up-and-slowing-down stuff
