they totally re-did the way warp markers work.

hopefully chipping in for this (you can rinse a sneaky 2 licenses). probably gonna wait and see how much it is with MAX though...

good point, must inquire to see if there is a special package deal for a non upgrade Abelton 8 with a purchased upgrade from max 4.5 to 5

anyone know if the educational version has any limitations? like upgrading and shit?

i'm definitely going to get this for live performances, and maybe even composing.

the video on the homepage is great... for explaining what you could do in Live 2...

other than that, new features do look pretty cool.

upon further reading, it looks like this new version doesn't implement anything as far as max goes... the "max for live" will be debuting "later in 2009"...

Yeah, they have been bollocking on about it for ages.

max4live beta has been shaky. lots of bugs in the first version and its still in closed beta. it will probably enter open (or rather more open beta) in a few months, and will probably have an upgrade price the same as the rest of thier plugs ~150-200, ableton has a demo mode where you can still run the max4live shit without having to pay for it, but you need the full license to edit them and integrate them into your existing projects
