7.0.2 AiR version is generally considered stable and a working crack.

seems like for mac any version crashes after a couple of days tho

anyone know how easy it is to get the academic version? Ive been out of school for a year now, still have my ID though.

Was easy for me. Sent a scan of my ID including the order form, think I got the unlock the next or second next day!

I downed the demo a couple of days ago, and i really like it. It even runs on a 1.3GHz machine! Not that smoothly, but so far it's been quite usable. It crashed on me once, probably due to lack of cpu power, especially when external midi sync gets out of control. If you keep your cpu under 100%, its syncing is fabulous, and the whole interface is really well designed. On the other hand, live is quite limited in how much you can tweak, compared to Buzz, which i've been using for the last 11 years exclusively.

I'm not sure whether i'll spend 400 on it though. Seems a bit much, compared to Buzz.

I ended up getting the academic version... Love it so far
