i get the feeling that -- at least with his earlier material -- dan deacon is just being an ironic asshole. and even if he's not, all of the over-the-top happy-energy-funtime bullshit becomes so grating after two minutes that i don't care to give him the benefit of the doubt. but really, his whole persona reeks of affected irony. the sweatpants, glasses, mannerisms. it's all quite gross. i'm tired of irony.
