In the end, I had to go with SPISH. Antarctica is too much like a counterfeit Ice Water With Ice. However, I feel that Ulillillia has won a moral victory.

right. That's the thing it seems like most people don't take into account. The contest isn't really about what's most idm. It's about what is suitably idm but sparks the most creativity.

i thought it was about what's IDM primarily and the creativity business was a side thing.

i made a track with 'glacial synths' yesterday, and ice pick drums, but it had nothing to do with Antarctica

i agree, i really dont understand why ulillillia hasnt won this. looking at the 2 options left, which neither i would've really pucked in the 1st place, aren't really IDM at all. this competition has failed totally.

I don't really like either of the finalists, but I picked Antarctica because every time I think of SPISH I picture a Shag illustration of 60s swingers smoking pipes with space helmets and listening to Bossa Nova or Lounge.
