Season 2 can really put people off the show, but don't let it. Just think of it as a nice 10 hour distraction while waiting for the sheer genius that is Season 3. After Season 3, there was simply no way in hell they could improve the show...

having only seen the show in one more or less unbroken sequence on DVD, I didn't have any problem with season 2, in fact I felt it to be a really good season. I think the ending is as strong as that of any other season. I'm guessing people who had problems with it disliked it more for confounding their expectations (not hood enough) than for actually being bad.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

100% agreed (and I rather liked Season 2).

all seasons are phenomenal. I was least into season 2 though...

I just wasn't that interested with all those losers down at the docks. Every episode, I said to myself "god, I hope someone kills ziggy". I just missed the whole barksdale crew... A LOT!

Season 5 definitely has some wtf moments but I was into the whole news thing. season 4 is also pretty dope with the whole school thing.

this show made me cry about 4 or 5 times.

he is? I kept thinking that as I watched it, that he had that potential. I think they should have drawn out his presence on the show, he's a phenomenal actor. Marlo was also very good, but not quite as engaging as Stringer Bell, not enough of a tragic/flawed figure.

By the way, I hated that nation of islam gunman dude. The only time the show really seemed to stoop to caricature. I couldn't suspend my disbelief, it was like fucking star trek.

ther's nothing wrong with season 2. making me take a break from some characters i like isnt "bad", it's challenging. fine. i like a challenge. it also sets up an expectation for the rest of the show, that basically you dont know wtf they are going to do next.

plus it was way more realistic to actually have avon rot in jail for a while. the only way he could have been a main character in s2 is if he broke outta jail like in a michael bay movie or something

series 5 is a total headfuck. my initial reaction when i realised what the main plot was going to be was was "wtf i'm watching se7en or some shit", then i decided that, no actually, the series 5 writers were just building on the previous 4 series worth of soul destroying frustrating shit being piled on top of these intelligent and creative characters, and saying "you see what happens?". when i saw it that way, i go right into it

oh shit i forgot him. yeah its fucked when you're watching this ultra realistic show and then a fucking Tarantino character strolls on in.

MAYBE there really are people like that walking around baltimore, but i doubt it

he completely Phails to stop series 3 being the best series of TV ever tho

i quite liked season 5, i wasn't so into the newsroom shenanigans, or with some of the characters breaking character a bit, but I found the city hall politicking to be really well done. Given that I work in a corporate enviro with its own politics, I found that part of the show to be probably the most memorable.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

yeah but are there guys at the bakery who wear hornrims and affect posh accents and pretend to be Malcolm X, along with the AK47s?

edit: the wiki article says that maybe Mouzone is supposed to be an ex member of the Fruit of Islam

ya just started season 2. good show. I wouldn't say it's THE best thing I've ever seen but it's very engaging. still at the end of the day it's another crime drama in a saturated genre. stands well above most.

and best series by hbo? what about six feet under?

acually

yes

not anymore of course (the bakery has been closed and the owners arrested for the murder of a journalist for the oakland tribune)

not all in the same person

but most definitely all of the afformentioned traits could be found

not alot of black muslims out in New Zealand?

well i did kind of think to myself - they wouldnt in a charcter this outlandish unless there was a real world basis for it, but then i decided i was being too much of an apologist lol

if there are real Brother Mouzones out there then the wire is pretty much perfect

yes, there are a LOT of black Muslims in my town, but they are all refugees from Somalia so they tend not to act like Brother Mouzone
