devilman crybaby - I hated it more than the 1st time... how can my favorite anime director make such a piece of bullshit... what a disappointment... superfluous, bland, so annoying and extremely unnerving... even the demons design was crappy af... pls don't watch it... what a sell out... netflix fault? probs not but the stamp is there...

kemonozume - now we're talking, script about demons again but made almost 20 years before that crybaby crap… fun, engaging, lots of comic relief 🐒, gory and brutal… several types of unique animation techniques like you'd expect from him and his team mates… those flashback edits are spot on and the sound fx are great... ost is quite good as well... how I wish they'd release this on bluray...

edit: actually there's an HDTV rip running around...

anyone in the UK able to educate me on how best to locate and watch series? there are a few classics i'd like to deal with - monster (and master keaton), then patlabor mostly - and i'd also like to see pluto, but don't want to subscribe to netflix. i've no sense of the limitations between legit and not-so exist, whether things can be easily streamed or need to be seeded any more. have had a look at these issues in the past, but just go too muddled.
