cat depression

so my boyfriend went out of town for a few days and i'm watching his cat at my place.

his cat seems to like it here but he threw up last night and wont stop meowing at his full food bowl

it makes me sad that he misses him so much

any recommendations on how to keep a slightly sad/depressed little buddy just the least bit happy?

looking after 2 cats at the moment, been here a few hours. one walked around meowing at everything, currently happy and the other has been behind the washing machine the whole time, looking very depressed,... the owner hasn't even left yet!

they'll be here for a few weeks

its been prlly just eating plants

give it a while to puke again

easy...

Leave the house or at least put on some clothes when you're watching southpark.

you cannot make the cat happy until you can learn to make yourself happy.

get some grass or something, i think they eat it when they have digestion problems.. not sure tho

this is very true, it aggitates there stomach and they puke all the nasty stuff out!! :D

but the best thing you can do for the cat is leave it alone to settle in, make sure its got enough food and water, a scratch pole and somewhere nice to curl up and let it get used to your place! fussing around it will just make it more aggitated! this is my experience of cats anyway!! hope it helps! :D

Make sure the food is fresh and the water too.

If they haven't eaten for a while, it might be that the food and water have been sitting for too long.

You can't love the cat unless you first love yourself.

washing machine cat isn't doing well (i've looked after them before in their house, and he'd stay in a closet most of the time but he can't stay behind the washing machine). he's a very shy and nervous wreck, with a big emotional attachment to his owner. gave him some food and water, and he's turned away from it

also there's some way cooler hiding places, so he's missing out

I looked after a cat the last two weeks.

It wouldn't come sleep in the bedroom and would wail at night so I shut all the other rooms off forcing it to come in, then it sat on my sofa and blinked at me for about 5 hours then started purring then we played with a ribbon and it went to sleep.

I kinda forced it to trust me coz it had nowhere to run. Now we're best friends.
