The fact is awepittance agrees is more than enough for me. I feel he has some of the best taste in IDM/electronic music on watmm.

Well, to be perfectly honest, you seem to be more into clever programming than clever melodies/harmony. That's not a bad thing, but a conflict of interest. The programming itself on any RDJ album is quite basic, but the melodic content and the synth usage is stellar. If you're into Autechre/Richard Devine type beats, I'm not surprised if you're not enthralled by the Tuss.

I used to be more spastic beat oriented, but I'm more interested in melodies and such now.

err.. don't want to sound like a prick so i'll just shut my mouth about this. i'm personnally more confident in the music tastes of people such as tidbit, spore or patternoverlap

is the new Last Step really that good?

Don't think I've heard that one, but from his self-titled album I only liked the first track 'Lives with Angel', which however didn't have much replay value at all, so I'm kind of skeptical.
