Massive Attack

this album is gonna be the shiznit

Read about this album quite some time ago and apparently Hope Sandowell and Damon Albarn do vocals on a couple of tracks.

EDIT: Which is amazing btw and yes this album is going to kick ass.

I am excited for this but I don't think they will ever top Mezzanine. I

tricky should get back with them... his career is going nowhere anyways... well it has been since nearly god. I want them to bring the protection crew back so bad...

you are the first person I know who prefers those two albums to Mezzanine.

I think we can quite comfortably agree that the Danny the Dog soundtrack is the pinnacle of their artist output

Don't get my wrong, Mezzanine is great, but it's very loud and confronting. Blue Lines and Protection are laid back and calm. I prefer that.

YES! I love the hip hop influence in the first two! Mezzanine is a wonderfully dark release, but i find myself putting on Portishead before that release if I want some hardcore trip hop.

ahh I love Portishead too but when it comes to massive attack, i prefer their darker Mezannine tp Protection and Blue Lines.

From what I've heard so far (live only) this album is going to be a bit of a disappointment for me. Given the chance I would definitely go see them live again

Also, no love for 100th Window so far? Everywhen? A Prayer for England? Butterfly Caught? Classic stuff

When I saw Massive Attack in 2004 (I think) it was a good show, but it was kind of spoiled by the white vocalist yammering on and on embarrassingly about peace and unity and equality and what have you. Just do the songs!

I hope it's less melancholy than 100th Window, that album was quite a grind to get through. Mainly because of Robert Del Naja's (I think I mean him) constant moaning vocal style.
