who is that squarepusher soundalike?

Recommended Posts

He did like jazz, funk, electric basslines, with squarepusher style breaks? I remember a topic about him a couple of years ago in this forum and there was like a link to samples of music on amazon or something? I wanted to download that stuff but I cannot remember his name. I think it was late 90s but maybe early 2000s?

Richard D James ripped Brian Eno.

And Eno ripped off just about every kraut, psychedelic, and prog musician from the era and repackaged their best stuff as 'ambient' when he never had anything to do with the sound except coining the term

Tom did not invent the techniques you're hearing nor does he have a patent on them. Plenty of bassists (Jaco Pastorious for one) are(were) on the same tip as sqp so a lot of people will SOUND JUST LIKE TOM ARGH!

Right but playing just like that with those electronics?

Do you really think so? I know Eno was influenced by kraut, psych, and prog but you think he completely ripped off the ambient sound from them? I ask out of ignorance and curiosity, not to challenge you.

I agree with everything I apparently said there.
