Ah yeah!!! I loved Cities of Gold, Ulysses, Dungeons and Dragons, Thundercats and Pole Position.

Also loved Pigeon Street, Muppet Babies, Ghostbusters, Jamie and the Magic Torch and the Racoons.

I also think a special mention should go out to the puppet stuff (actually my favorite stuff) like Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show and Button Moon.

^ WTF at the Iberia advert in this? Was that always there?!

Defenders of the Earth, Superted, Bananaman, Raccoons, Visionaries, MASK, Dangermouse... I need to go away from the internet now otherwise my entire day is going to become consumed by this trip down memory lane

For some reason SuperTed has stuck in my mind.

Dr Snuggles was also pretty far out with a heavy dose of surrealism. It's basically just a continuous shroom trip..

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

Count Duckula and Trap Door were amongst the best. Along with Tom & Jerry of course which were just repeated.

Not so much a cartoon or kid's show, but I miss the hell out of this. I used to watch it when i was a wee lad...so, I guess it's in the ballpark

yep. i forgot to mention i had this one as well. definately a favorite.

btw: not sure who here is a mysterious cities of gold fan, but i've been running the official irc chatroom for mocg since 98. we put out the "unofficial" dvds before the official one and even provided the company with material for their bonus features etc.

cool I bought a mate the boxset for his 40th birthday (I'm not quite that old yet btw)

the Ulysses and Star Fleet boxsets are pretty sweet too and have an attention to detail that's often overlooked, they don't make em like they used to

here are some 70s toons. i got these on dvd when tower records was closing down a couple of years back. they make a lot of use of rotoscoping to realize an accurate picture of the future. unfortunately, barely any last longer than 1 season, with flash barely finishing it's 2nd season before being revived years later as 'defenders of the earth'

Yah, Thundercats, TMNT, and C.O.P.S. had amazing intros, which were about 50 times better than the content of the cartoon. But much like video games of the time, you'd look at the box art and imagine the game looked like that. Some others I used to watch that I don't think were mentioned here...: Silver Hawks, Bionic Six, Mr. Bogus, Fantastic Max, Dildo Blaster Jr., etc.

One hundred million times this! God, I love the intro and outro to this cartoon so much, it was among my favourite cartoons as a kid.

I adored Samurai Pizza Cata as well. Probably the first cartoon i was ever aware of as a youngster that had a sense of self-awareness that it was a cartoon (at least in the English dub it was, can't speak for the original).

I think this might be one of my favourite WATMM threads ever, so much win in here taking me back to my childhood. Kids today missed out on being young and having stuff like this to watch.
