anyone ever made their own vaporizer?

Recommended Posts

Guest Helper ET

so i want a vaporizer but i dont want to fork out hundreds of dollars for the volcano. then i realized i dont even want to fork out $100 for a cheap one. id like to make my own with parts from home depot or something for around $20-$40 ish. im finding some sites, but nothing too promising

i was hoping at least one of you suckers have successfully made one yourself. and im not talking about those light bulb ones, i mean a real box with a tube and stuff. maybe one that plugs in, or sits on a stove burner or something. seems like something dr. hat would have tried

im just tired of smoking and having to worry about getting lung cancer. id eat it but i cant afford that much weed, and im not in a situation where i can grow my own

help me out

I think with the DIY ones you run the risk of wasting some weed cause it can be difficult to get the temperature to exactly where it needs to be.

I haven't got one to recommend by but after seeing Doug Bensen in Super High Me it struck me that a volcano, despite the expense, would be a worthwhile purchase for most people. I assume you would be using it daily or close to it? That's a lot of potential lung health to save. Maybe you could try justifying the cost to yourself in that you might end up 'smoking' less weed and save the difference eventually.

thats basically what the girl in the weed store said, it eventually pays it self off, after not too long even. i would buy it if i had more money, but i simply cant come up with the money for a volcano right now. its in my plans, but for the time being, a temporary DIY one would be sweet. i dont mind wasting a little weed for my heath either...

i have a hotbox vaporizer and it's totally awesome. it's made out of stone and works flawlessly. you can buy it online for like 150 dollars

those little buggers look cool. whats inside of them? i dont see why i couldnt concoct my own version....

although, its kind of contradictory to use a stone box, and then a plastic tube

whats inside is some kind of heating element so that when you turn it on and wait 15 mins. it gets to the exact temperature to vaporize but not burn/smoke the weed. it's really simple and easy to use.

i don't recommend building your own anything because of the potential you might have in burning down your house or some other injury

thats true, if i made one i would totally forget it was on and go to the store or something and come back to see my house on fire. im glad you had this idea, because it alone has turned me off wanting to make one. thanks dude!

i guess ill just have to save up for the volcano

ill post my experiences and pics when i get it...probably in the next couple of months

thanks watmm

i just had a thought. probably best described as a picture. hold on a sec...

k im done. the picture is self explanatory. basically its just a box sitting on top of the stove connected to a tube, and a thermometer is somehow attached to this box to control the temperature

is this not perfect?

professionally made household devices start on fire all the time. lamps, laptops, toasters...the list goes on. i dont believe that just because something is sold by a company that has been passed by safety agencies, it wont necessary start on fire

people turn their stoves on all the time, i dont see how this is different. as long as all the materials are non combustible and you dont leave the scene of the crime until you are finished, there is about a zero percent chance of a fire. it would just become a simple rule like putting on your seat belt when you get in your car

next

also lol at picture. borat chair? whats a borat chair?

i disagree. with an accurate thermometer placed inside of the box, i think it would very easy to raise/lower the hotbox even millimeters if necessary, to change the temperate even a few degress. you can buy digital thermometers which are accurate to fractions of a degree

my logic sees no obstacle...

you could set it all up before you put the weed in, and when the temperature is perfect...then youd pop your weed in and wait

honestly, if someone can see even the tiniest little fault in this idea, please come forth and discuss...because im pretty fucking sure this is a flawless plan that could revolutionize weed smoking

the only thing i could see going wrong, is if your stove was old or crappy, and didnt maintain a constant temperature. im not sure if this is even real though...it would need testing. basically, im a genius

ya i usually pass through red dear whenever i travel. ive never really known anyone from there in a significant way. almost like red deer is an enclosed community of its own. my question is, why the fuck do you care where im from? are you trying to find me? are you trying to make conversation? are you trying to to make a human connection? wtf...dont take it personally, but lots of people are always asking where im from, and frankly, i dont want to tell you, and i dont get why you even care. i dont care where you are from, maybe the mind requires physical location to help identify a concept

also sorry, i kind of exploded lol

and to my usernames always suck, ever since you posted that dead cat picture, i now see you as, "i always suck"

................................................and vaporizer discussion is dead

i know...the place is nuts. btw sorry i freaked out lol. yeah theve got hundreds of stores...food, clothing, fun, learning, weirdness......if you go to west ed mall and are bored, youre probably a boring person. its not all that its hyped up to be though, most edmonton peeps realize the emptiness of WEM pretty quick and only go back for a pair of pants or a good time.

my girlfriend and i have been planning a trip to go skating in the ice rink...too lazy to go, but the point is they have a skating rink in the middle of the mall.....as well as water shows with seals and shit. when i was a kid, i remember when they had dolphins...fucking dolphins!

dont let this tempt anyone though, edmonton is a piece of shit

if you want to DIY , what me and ol aron used to do is " and this was back in the high school days" swipe a test tube from science class,, wash it out good,, throw your nug in there,, plug the top with your thumb and place it over a candle.

you will see the smoke/vapor accumulate in the tube and you just suck it out.

the reason i say this is because when i had done my session ,what was left was the pure garbage that weed smokers worry about.

try it.

solar hits, my friend

you don't need a clunky machine or rube goldberg contraption to enjoy mother nature's gifts

just a convex chunk of glass and a sunny day
