start with his first album. it's self titled and it's got a really ugly cover of him standing in some water in some weird white outfit:

it's seriously one of the best albums of all time.

i'm a bird now has it's highs, but it's not nearly as solid, imo. there's some filler on bird, but the first album has none. the new album, the crying light, is pretty good as well. not sure if i prefer it to bird...they're about tied, i guess.

if you have the chance to see him live, do it! saw him earlier this year at the nob hill masonic theater here in SF and it was brilliant. you could see that everybody in the room had goosebumps.

I just love Antony & The Johnsons. Went to a performance by them a couple of weeks ago. I wrote a short review about it on last.fm: check it out - it contains youtube videos from someone who made some clips. They're all quite crappy quality wise, but still enjoyable. The one of "cripple and the starfish" has a lot better quality though and that's an AMAZING song by the way.

Two other videos you just have to see:

one of his most emotional songs and easily one of the best songs by him as well; it even makes him shed a tear at the 1:06 marker

a really great special video of a new track on his latest album: "epilepsy is dancing" -- i can't get enough of the part starting at 1:41 "cut me in quadrants, leave me in the corner"

He is much welcome to.

His trills are too contrived for me to bear. They're so misplaced and overused, especially on Volta, my least favorite Bjork album by far. I See Who You Are was the only track that I liked and anything that featured Antony was surely ruined.

some of my favorite antony songs. the first one is probably my absolute favorite antony track. the lyrics are from an edgar allen poe poem. very spooky and beautiful.
