Will Oldham's debut, Palace Brothers 'There is no one what will take care of you', had half of Slint as his backing band. and it's awesome. Will Oldham also took the photo for the front cover of Spiderland. You can't get much more alt-country/post rock than that.

 

I was going to say Labradford was a weird suggestion, but Mi Media Naranja is a post rock take on Sergio Leone I suppose.
