Re-read the rule again; nowhere did I say such threads were verboten, but multiple instances of said threads, and repostings in an attempt to be inflammatory.

So you're going to be making assumptions about the intent of the posters re-creating such threads when I already gave an observation as to those reasons which have nothing at all to do with your assumptions of being "funny" or "inflammatory"?

The reason so many people make threads like that is because it takes like 5 or 6 threads before Joyrex gives any answer at all. And that's only because one of the moderators will keep locking the threads previous to it before any of them get an answer... even though those threads don't break any rules, it just "annoys" certain moderators despite the fact they can choose to simply not click on those topics.

The only inflammatory posts that go on in these situations are the kinds of "fuck you, peons" attitude of posts the moderators typically leave when they lock these kinds of threads, which have nothing to do with a substantial answer. And since these threads didn't break any rules, that's why another user will make a new thread asking practically the same question.

There'd likely only be one thread if moderators wouldn't lock threads that weren't against the rules anyway and we'd collectively wait patiently for an answer from whoever the thread was addressed to.

It's not a lot to ask.

I never know when people get banned. I come here almost everyday. If I find out someone has been banned the chances of me finding out why are even less. I don't know why beneboi was banned. It always seems like this information is deleted on purpose. I don't like it.

Sorry, don't mean to derail the thread, but I know Greenwich too. It's the violence against women that gets me. Saw some poor chinese student get mugged. Was up in friends flat about 300m away at the time, so there was nothing we could do other than call the police. She put up a proper good fight though. And a friend got mugged up on Shooter's Hill Road. The worse thing was she's asian and they wrenched her piercings out of spite. I've seen a 40 man brawl outside the wetherspoons, but that's to be expected.

 

Ah mate, last year I saw someone get put in a coma outside that Spoons... head stomped on the curb and everything. Disgusting. I spoke to the staff weeks later; they had no idea what happened to the poor bloke. Police took ages to turn up, typically; they'd all scarpered by then.

Thing is, sunday-thursday it's a nice enough pub... I watched the game there tonight.

There was initially a thread, that got closed due to members' inability to behave civilly, and then multiple ones cropped up that were closed as well.

Since there was already an initial thread regarding it, we didn't feel the need to "announce" it - unfortunately that thread, as I mentioned before, degenerated quickly and had to be closed.

First, I'm not required to answer for anything I do - If I do provide an explanation, it's out of courtesy to the community if I feel it's warranted. Mods lock threads if they are counter-productive or begin to get out of hand or go off-subject too much. They do NOT close threads because it "annoys" them. And, while normal forum members do have the prerogative not to click on threads they don't wish to read, as Moderators, they have more of an obligation to view all threads (as humanly possible) to ensure some semblance of order continues to exist here. Also, Mods have power to say what they feel is lock-worthy or not, and you, as members of this community have the right to question that, either with the mod in question, or me. As stated in the rules, you have an issue or want an answer why a member was banned and there is not a thread already explaining why, you can create one or better yet, PM me and I will gladly offer an explanation. Whether you accept that answer or not is another matter altogether, though.

Information is not deleted on purpose - again, if you're curious, feel free to PM me regarding anything you might be wondering why it happened on the forums.
