The Orb - Baghdad Batteries

This is really good, I'm happy that the orb continue to make choonz of this quality. The opener is great, and super soakers is a killer track.

also, this album is a welcome return to the form of okie dokie, as far as i'm concerned. maybe a bit of pomme fritz floating round in there too....

I think I've got to give this album quite a few more listens yet as it hasn't yet grabbed me - The only track at the moment that seems to stand out is the uber-boingy Super Soakers. Not to say the albums bad in any way, it's mighty fine one but it's certainly one of the less immediate albums (though I already prefer it to The Dream).

i like this record. i no longer have unrealistic expectations for orb releases so i can enjoy them once more

i actually just think that the orb are so good that expectations are pointless. if you expect too much from something then it becomes easy to miss out on how good the finished product actually is. for me this release is way above average. i mean, it's actually pretty amazing when i sit down and listen to it. that's easy to forget when you compare it to past releases.

I'm really liking this, great return to their early 90s sound, now pass the dutchie.
