Mr.Sensi
Quote hells yeah, this is pretty much the same thing that got me making electronic music and teh IDM's. I only made a few "jungle" tracks in my Rebirth days (was mainly making extremely unorthadiox "don't know any better" acids), but once I got my hands on Reason 1 in I think 2001, It was all really odd drum 'n bass until I grew a pair and entered the Brain Dance production realm. I started off with Rebirth as well. Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
i was forced to take piano, guitar, cello, oboe, trumpet, viola, drums and something else i'm forgetting lessons as a child. played in my school band. played in the village band. and the scout band. was forced mostly but i appreciate it now. at about 13 i heard dance music via a mix tape. it had some moby techno and klf type stuff. blew my mind open. the bands seemed so cumbersome. moby was one man with some machines. i bought a keyboard, some shitty thing and started writing and recording some really bad techno tracks. then i came across LFO and my tracks started sounding better but still being made on an awful cheesy keyboard, even the drums. for my 15th birthday i got a casio. it was incredible, had proper drum sounds and whilst still being cheesy it was better. i sent my demo tape to siirecords when i was 16 and got signed pretty soon afterwards. my first ep under the name 'carsforchrist' was made entirely on that casio. i got some good feedback but knew i needed to get a pc to go pro. the first software i got was buzz and it changed my life. i threw the casio out and have released 5 albums since then. i haven't played the oboe in years. Guest catsonearth
marian said: catsonearth said: Your browser does not support the HTML5 audio tag chris' 15 year old karaoke overdubbed opus that track is awesome, you got any more such pubescent masterpieces in store? srsly it rocks thanks! unfortunately, i don't have any of those tracks except that one because it was on a cassette tape i found when i was taking electronic music in high school and i thought it was kinda cool, so i brought it in and transferred it to DAT, so i could burn it on CD, which was one of our assignments (these were the days when burning CDs was a totally new concept and the coolest thing ever). i have a cardboard box full of cassettes at my parent's house in LA filled with stuff like that, but i don't know if they're any good any more. next time i go down maybe i'll try to see what's on them. i have been a bit curious about it.
