i learnt to fall through the wall/floor of the dream when i have nightmares. doesnt always work nowadays tho.

The other is Panoramix (or Getafix in English) from Asterix becoming a mad weirdo after getting hit by a rock. Really freaked me out as a child.

my nightmares were a lot more visually striking than any of these. meh

I used to be horribly afraid of some owl like creature with claws and a huge beak and enormous eyes that was able to control my thoughts and would come to kill me if I didn't comply.

It fucked with me pretty badly.

Oh my god yeah, definitely. The one other tintin book i remember that scared me as a child was Cigars of the Pharoah, but i can't remember why. I seem to remember it was considerably more mental than the others.

also, dreaming about not being able to breath

and some thinly-veiled anti-communist allegorical book my gran picked up for me thinking it was a naive childrens book. the poorly developed metaphorical content was chilling to 6 year old me.

I would always imagine seeing something like this outside the car window whenever we drove in rural areas at night.

i had a dream 2 nights ago where i was getting sexy with a girl i used to go to school with in the school toilets and i saw myself in the mirror and it woke me up (lucid dream) so naturally i carried on where i left off with this girl and then there was this creature in her mouth just like that picture that yegg posted on the nature is IDM thread. Not really a nightmare but it was grim.

As a kid I had a nanny who I was kind of scared of. At least just a bit. She had some very special facial features and she was kind of big/fat. My worst nightmare as a kid was actually about her. I dreamt that I was waiting for her to pick me up at my daycare and when she finally showed up it wasn't her. It looked like her and sounded like her but I just knew it wasn't her. The person who had showed up looked like a man but no one could see that except me.

Many years later I watched Lost Highway and the clip at 1:37 reminded me of this nightmare.

Still scares the living shit out me.

What I like about Joshua Hoffine's images is that they look like something from a fantasy movie. But yeah, those Viscosity images are quite nasty.
