takeshi gets it

yes he does, but come on analogue wings put up some better tracks those were kind of disappointing for someone scoffing at the thread's 80's music knowledge

i'd recommend some of the following for a good mix of nostalgia and awesomeness:

when in rome - the promise

matthew wilder - break my stride

murray head - one night in bangkok

sly fox - let's go all the way

dead or alive - you spin me round

erasure - chains of love

some of them might seem obvious, but when throwing 80s tracks into a mix, i feel that's kind of the point. if you're going to mix in an obscure track nobody's ever heard, the 80s cred is kind of irrelevant, no?

as an aside, i've done all of those songs as karaoke songs, and they absolutely go off every time.

Good selection (espec Murray Head and that Erasure tune), good point.

I mean, some choices here veer into the "load of cock" range. Who wants a night of Take On Me and 99 Red Balloons? Jesus, next would be Come On Eileen - I'd rather stick a fork in my knee. On the other hand, some seem to be just showing their knowledge of obscure tunes, you gotta give them something they might remember.
