romans and greeks (old ones) are responsible for lot of BS going on today. not to mention sexual perversities,

dissection of sciences into a bunch of non-compatible specialized teachings with isolated terminologies.

omfg, what are you going on about?

Why do I get the feeling PBN has some issues?

this is exactly the problem, lol; anyone who disagrees with "perversion and nihilism for all!" is, by definition, 'repressed' or 'has issues'. maybe the people who have issues are those who are entertained by someone cutting a woman's clittoris with a knife? i dunno!

but sure, i had a slightly disproportionate reaction to the film, as i mentioned.

i think he does a have a point to an extent...its a simple where do we draw the line? argument i spose....perhaps a reviewer will write an extremely long essay about this.

but i do believe in the correlation between the increase and public celebration of depravity with the imminent collapse of great societies....perhaps this is another one of them...but i cant be too quick to judge because public opinion is still out i spose.

i believe this as well to an extent, but i think american football is far more indicative of the collapse of great societies than the film anti christ, again this why i took issue with it because it seemed like an unnecessarily unfair focus on what's considered to be a relatively obscure avant-garde film. i believe there is much more damage being done to society through insidious and subtle things not through fake snuff porn movies. if anything having those like tentacle rape japanese comics gives society an outlet in which to relieve their inner most perversions without actually acting on them

with great power comes great responsibility

dyingdad2s.jpg

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

collpase of great societies has nothing to do with anything involved in depravity or any preceived notion of moral sense. it has to do with systems that grow beyond their capacity for stability. when the solution to past problems become problems in their own and when it can't no longer old itself together. after it crumbles a new one comes which will lay foundations for a "bigger" society, and when this new one outgrows the foundations...

I'd say you could judge a society on how much the average actions and average moral standarts differ. ie. how hypocritical it is. you know, like priests being kiddie fiddlers. I say yes, our current one is pretty bad in this aspect, even in the least controvertial ethical issues. since there is no absolute moral what counts is only what the individual or the collective consider as ethical and how that differs with what he7they actually do.

although maybe.. maybe.. the preceptions of right and wrong come from the perceptions of what disrupts the established order or not, then maybe yes; if people disregard things once considered as bad then ok yes i could see how you could argue this could lead to collapse. however if the aspects which threaten order change over time then so should the perception of good and evil. in this last case it is those fundamentalist puritanicals that advocate strict adherence to outdated moral principles that threaten the stability of order.

I love how people comment on a movie they haven't watched.

I watched Antichrist yesterday and none of the scenes that the press went apeshit over in Cannes were even close to what they managed to describe them as being. It's an absolutely beautiful movie - actually I wish I could get every single frame printed as a poster.

And fuck all that morality bullshit you guys have got going.

that would be, like, a lot of posters man.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

Yeah, just around 144.000 posters.

I'm not kidding though. I would love 144.000 posters on my living room walls. And if I put them chronological order and run by them really fast it would be like watching the movie with no sound on.

amen to that! people let themselves get wrapped up in media hype to have some sort of cathartic emotional release

it's like disgruntled mom's who hear about the new 'grand theft auto' and organize protests around it never even seeing the game in action

I told a girl I was the Antichrist and she laughed but then the guy that was driving the car got really offended.

i love the idea of a guy having nightmares of a film hes never seen, can you describe the nightmares please ? also if youre admitting that people have been depraved throughout history or whatever what difference does it make if we watch films about it now ? was there a point in history where people werent depraved and did this coincide with "art" only showing people doing nice things ? and would the concept of genital mutialtion (or whatever other depraved stuff qualifies) never have occured to any of us if it werent for this film or others like it? also if films like this are twisting our minds and causing depravity what should we be watching so that our minds dont become twisted and we can stay on the straight and narrow ? do you think if we only watched films about nice non depraved things then we would all become good people who only do nice things ?

I may watch this tonight. Is it worth it?

Absolutely.

If you love a movie with great atmosphere, beautiful cinematography, and great actors then you're in for a treat. There are a few hiccups along the way but if you can look beyond that then you've got yourself a great movie.

Also, make sure to watch it with a great sound system. It's worth it.

Really want to see this. Need to get my hands on it somehow as I missed it in theatres.

I love the tangent this threat went off on!

yeah i got a decent one but the time-code is on top. no biggie. I watched Drag Me To Hell and was pleasantly surprised at it's total awesomeness. I reckon I'll do Antichrist tonight then.
