I'd go down there and demand my money back if he weren't in Florida. This is already nearly 2 years ago now too. Just be sure to look out for hwy98pawn on ebay. That's his name he switches to now, which he does often. It's no mystery either that he's gotten tons of people negatives comments deleted from his feedback too.

Back on topic, I'm still wondering about the cords. I'll need one for the synth to the amp, and I'll need one for the midi to the PC. Or can the PC act as the audio output? Either way, what do I need for each, and do they sell long ones? The area I plan to put whatever synth I get is somewhat a distance from the PC so the cord will need to stretch over a bit to reach the audio card.

synth to amp, normal Jack lead, or lead with TS connectors on each end to give it a more official name. sold at every guitar shop and they go very long :)

for midi, you need a midi cable and an interface so you can plug it into the pc. you can get loads of cheap usb midi interfaces from online music stores etc

that won't get any sound onto your pc though, only a list of note lengths and pitches to be played back by a vst etc, thats what midi is,

you could plug the synth straight to pc as you say. your pc prob's has a mic or line input built in, probably a mini jack so you'll need the jack lead mentioned above and a big jack to mini jack converter. This will allow you to record sound and play through the pc speakers but it won't sound great. fine for practicing on though. you will also need a piece of software that can playback the audio coming into the computer but as you say you use vst's already I imagine you already have one?...

you may find there is a delay when using your computer as an amp like that, though, as in latency. thats when you need an audio interface, I'd stick with the amp for now, that'll do fine.

Thanks a lot. Seems like pretty basic info now. :)

Ya, I'll probably stick with the amp. I only mentioned the PC as I wasn't sure if it was an option or not. I did worry if latency issues may arise if it's connected to a PC though. Hopefully that doesn't occur with MIDI often, or at all :P
