Actually, my daughter had bouts of chronic constipation when she was younger, and her shits were just like that (looks like it was packed together, real dry but with a wet sheen coating the surface, and a pinched tip. I say it's real, and as for the seat stain, that's caused by people leaning forward against their knees when they shit, causing their asshole to angle up and the turds scrape the seat.
