yes it is one of those places no the internet that blows people away,, i personally browse the latest moviez list and just start going through it and go for the stuff that i have heard of already and never watched and then click on 'interesting titles and see what they are all about,, and that is where i find most of the awesome shit.. another way to find stuff is to view the Directors Collections,, it is a database of most the 'important' directors of all time and a detailed list of their catalog.. .

Yes, it owns! I've been using this site for 2 years. It has a collection I haven't seen anywhere else. I'm not so fond of the browsing options though. The "collections" are great but otherwise it's very hard to just go there and pick some essential movies you haven't seen. I had a script running every week that indexed all the movies, links and added IMDB info. That way I could filter easier. But then they updated their site and I've been too lazy to update my script.

But my knowledge of cinema has greatly increased because of this site.
