Can you measure someone's intelligence by their sense of humor?

Im starting to believe that a sense of humor tells you more about how smart or intelligent someone is than any other factor

So is some one without a sense of humor smarter or dumber?

i guess you'd have to break intelligence into a few categories

dubwit

chillout-downtempo-memorization

giant horse conjurer

sports

etc

I'm not sure. I'd like to think there's a correlation as I consider myself and my friends both intelligent and funny. But then I think about those real freaky 'brainbox' people you see on TV reciting pi or whatever and I don't think I'd like to talk to them at all.

i think it's more a measure of balanced intelligence rather than focused autistic tardfest intelligence

i know stupid hilarious people , i know stupid unfunny people, i know serious brainboxes who are about as interesting and funny as stepping in dry dog poo, i know intelligent people who are quick and sharp and witty and hilarious. everyone has their own sense of humour, independent of intelligence, and it just depends wether you like it or not.

the people that understand more style of humor are more intelligent. so if you find yourself in a thread and people are lolling and you're wtfing then you have some rungs to climb on the intelligence ladder.

Like oftentimes Ill notice people wont see I am trying to make a funny, and granted it probably sucks balls as a joke or wahtever, but where is the recognition that I am not being serious.

I feel like some people have it, and some people just dont. And those that dont are fucking retards.

see i understand this as my 3 closest buddies are pretty stupid. so my humor is lost on them often times.

but, at the same time, people who don't know me also won't get my humour right off the bat cause it's not straight in your face and takes a little bit to get used to, kind like a persons personality.

i have that affliction and it causes a lot of people to ask me to confirm if i was joking.

my friend's girlfriend, 50% of the time, takes me completely serious to the point of getting angry and will defend whoever i was joking with or try to call me out.

i think a lot of people expect jokes to sound a certain way, and though they may not get you outright, will slowly get used to your humor. or not

i have a sort of dry slash witty sense of humour. i wouldn't say you can judge people by a joke they happen to say if you don' know them. i know for me i only really open up and joke when i'm comfortable with whom i'm around
