Did you see the metro or whatever yesterday? A person loses a job every 30 seconds. I expect everyone will be unemployed by tomorrow lunchtime and we'll be feasting off each others' limbs for essential protein by the evening.

I'm okay, job pays only 19k, but then I have, except for my student loan, no debt or responsibilities, and my rent is pretty cheap.

Thats not really a bad wage, or situation by todays standard, especially in the current economy.

Are there any promotion oppurtunities? I ask this because you don't see many people here mentioning a steady income or job.

ive been looking for jobs on craiglist to keep me occupied during the summer (been looking since pretty much february on and off), just simple things like dishwashing and painting houses, deskjobs, etc.

Been really frustrating because it seems like people wont even consider you unless you have 1 year+ prior work experience or continuous employment. So despite the number of ads available and that ive been responding to, doesnt seem like anyone is interested.

Despite my mom losing her job and my dad being retired we're doing pretty well, havent to make any sacrifices.

Employed, after a long dry spell. Not looking, because I am just grateful to have this one. Am I happy financially? Fuck no, I have 3,000 dollar debt on my credit card. But, Ill be able to pay it down again which is the important thing. This economy blows goats

My Dad works on aircraft, and built the undetectable radar sytem for stealth bombers years ago, it's all top secret and I'm not supposed to know any of this, so if you guys could keep kind of hush that would be awesome.

So I guess he does something with electronics, but yeah his jobs pretty safe.

i'm a freelance photo assistant so i'm always looking for work. i usually find something though and one place has hired me fairly consistently. the money is decent.

the work i'm really trying to find though is freelance photography where i would be the one shooting, which is really what i went to school for anyway. it's going to take some work to get the rest of the equipment i need though (laptop, software, more strobes). plus i need to look into renting a studio.

Made ~$80k when I was landing things on Mars.

Surely this was far cooler though, right?

I mean maybe not, I know fuck all about internships, but it definetly sounds it!

yeah, I'll prolly never do anything as cool as the Phoenix Mars Lander again in my life...

all downhill from here, as far as my career is concerned... :getlost:

lol doesn't look downhill to me, nice little pay packet there! Unless of course you hate the job. You landed the Phoenix? My dad is an avid astronomer, I remember this well, awesome.

Yeah, I was one of the mission controllers (also known as 'Aces') that landed it, just about a year ago.

by landed you mean "pushed a button and waited for a response" right?

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

yeah, most people don't realize that depending on the rotation of the planets (about their own axes and around the sun), there can be a telemetry delay anywhere from ~15 to 30 minute delay (called one way light time OWLT) before you even know what happened out there. It had landed approx 20 minutes before we even got the telemetry to confirm...

lol...one person I told thought that I was an astronaut that was physically in a spaceship that went to Mars

I was like "ummmmmm..no"
