i heard this while trippin' balls a few weeks ago, and i can't decide if it's pretty idm for pop music or just terrible. i like the weird high bendy chords but the lyrics are fucking horrid.

well, i have next to no exposure to popular music, besides hearing things in taxis or when aus-chavs play music from their crappy mobile phone speakers on public transport. so imagine my surprise hearing it for the first time during the peak of an acid trip, in a taxi driving through the city at night, zole.

we need a rapper to slay the auto tuners. some one step up and make them feel stupid.

imo autotune ABUSE is when the average listener CAN'T TELL it's being used to clean up an awful vocal performance. this is a very specific sound (which will go away in not too long) but it's being used as an effect, and these singers have developed vocal techniques to get the trills and glitches associated with it. it's really the opposite of laziness.

if you want to hear an example of someone who doesn't know how to use this properly, check out lil wayne's verse on "can't believe it". he's totally unintelligible.

no its just that it has been a popular overused effect since Cher used it and it hasn't stopped.
