hm, well i just tried it out on another monitor, and it's harder to see. i guess it depends on how strongly your monitor displays the difference between the two shades of orange and pink.

you can change the chamfer (ie. shape gradient) and distance... so technically with enough effort you could create a massive cock bursting out of your screen.

here's a variant i made that might work better on some monitors.

again, you should see two different colored spirals. in one, the color appears pinkish, in the other, yellowish-green. this time around, it's actually this color in both spirals.

theyre pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum but the red/orange is shifted to either side a bit. you automatically think the same strands of the general mass of colour are covering both but arnt - therefore your mind fills in the blanks to what it assumes is true at the expense of the green.

this is just a guess though.

again, not too be a cunt in all this but i dont see why people are so amazed? its just the sort of thing you see in a book and go 'hrmm' to surely? same as circles and squares seeming different sizes, gray looking like different shades or straight lines seeming bendy.

because whats actually interesting are magic eyes. i mean, repetition to trick your brain into thinking your eyes are looking at the same points thereby creating AN ENTIRE NEW 3D DIMENSION IN FRONT OF YOUR VERY EYES! isnt that awesome?
