this thread is basically a bunch of people seeing pictures of a man flayed open and some dude posing next to him. they act all indignant and call him a murderer, how awful, etc. and then when they find out it's a premed student messing with cadavers, they don't want to admit they were being reactionary and instead focus on what "poor taste" it was.

i still think it's fucked up even if she is a vet. the picture of the girl holding the living dog with all its guts missing made me want to puke, it was obviously in a lot of pain and she was enjoying it..and just because she was a vet this sort of stuff isn't appropriate and it's a fucked up thing to do no matter who your are, i really believe she has some mental issues.

No it wasn't. It's funny, people see guts and a load of blood and they have this association with pain and suffering in their heads, but this dog could have died in any way. Who knows where veterinary schools get their dog corpses? They're probably dogs that die in surgery or of other illnesses in veterinary hospitals, probably strays with no owners. The blood and guts? That's just functional stuff. It's inside you and me. A side effect of working with this sort of thing on a daily basis is desensitisation to it - this girl isn't reacting with horror to blood and guts like you are because it's her (future) job. And rightly so.

I'd also like to add that if you really think that dog is alive, then you're really stupid.
