I'm an atheist who's interested in Christian culture, the King James bible, and religious music.

I went to a Christian primary school and my dad at least was somewhat religious when I was growing up... up until the age or 7 or 8 I went to church every sunday and as old as 10 or 11 I did a reading in Church on a Sunday. I was never confirmed.

No - the one from Proverbs is painted on the wall of Greenwich Market, which I used to live very close to about a year ago and it always stuck in my head. The quote from Matthew is was the basis of one of my favourite hymns when I was in school. I think the KJV is one of the most important works of literature ever created, both on its own merits as a text and for its almost unrivalled cultural influence. I wouldn't say they were ironic quotations because that implie a lack of respect.
