The album is not going to revolutionize music, but it will contain a series of really good tracks, with some interesting elements that some might want to describe as "innovative". Some will be sceptical about it, but after some time the general claim will be that "Aphex Twin revolutionized music again with his latest release", because he is Aphex Twin.

lol.

I hope that's true. That would be like another Drukqs really. I was showing it to my sort of new girlfriend yesterday and was amazed (again) that A.) that album was released in 2001, and B.) despite being released in '01, the songs are most likely a year or 2 older.

The best part is that the birdie liked it.

I can't believe that Avril 14th is the most listened to track on Aphex's LAST FM page. I mean, it's a nice track but come one!

You should then go off and play the Elephant Song for her and see if she reckons the same person made it.

I wouldnt place bets against him never releasing stuff like that again because he hasnt pushed that style as far as possible. You can tell that it could get even better than druqks.

i remember turning on drukqs after downloading from usenet before it came out.. being kind of mehh about the first track, like 'yeah, this might be aphex', then vordhosbn came on and i think my brain came through my eyeballs. like.. 'yeah, this is probably it,, most likely.. yep.. DAMN'. i mean, nobody writes rhythms portraying that much velocity.. at least very often. the faster it goes the more precise the sounds have to be- it reaches a new level. hopefully we'll all have the same feeling, again, with this one.

the sad part is it seems like it was 30 years ago.. but, anyways..

Absolutely. This is what im talking about.

I WANT another drukqs, or something on the same vibe. I couldn't care less if it wasn't something "new", it would be still something new compared to all the other crap thats been around since it was released. I just want to feel that again, the frenetic speed, the perfect flow, the way the track evolves and the variety of sounds working together at ridiculous speeds that only aphex can do. No one has still got near that level of "fast-frenetic-flowing" beats sound or vibe, its always lacking in comparasion to the rest of similar stuff (hello Venetian Snares). I have yet to see anyone with the talent or whatever it takes to be able to get that kind of thing succesfully. The only stuff that i've heard that made me feel a bit like that is some these steinvord tracks that have been around for a while now.

While I tend to agree on this... i really don't see how it could be pushed further. Even more considering how impossible the current level is (after soon 10 years!). Is just amazing.
