Er hat uns komische Miles-Davis-Platten vorgespielt. Er ist ein weird jazz guy. Aber Jazz ist weird, nicht wahr? Aphex ist ein ziemlich netter Kerl, aber auch ein Bully. Er jagt vielen Angst ein, was ich gut verstehen kann. Einmal hat er bei mir übernachtet. Ich war nicht da. Als ich zurückkam, waren alle meine CD’s falsch einsortiert. Na so was.

And to Hauttle: the reason we care about what artists think about other artists is the same reason we come on this forum to discuss what others think of different artists. Its not something thats really easy to explain, but its just good to share interests with people and finding out one artists opinion of another artist almost puts the music into a slightly different perspective

Its kind of funny. A lot of the artists have had periods where they were prolific and self-absorbed where they decided that their music was better than the other. For example aphex used to talk shit about autechre, but in recent interviews has cited them as an influence.

Richard definitely has a reputation for messing with people and riling them up. I remember reading an interview at aphextwin.nu where he said some other musician wanted to beat him up because he wound him up so much.

Richard's music can sound really mischievous too, like it's total cunning smartass music sometimes. I get a really potent sense of mischief out of his tunes and beats. I guess his personality comes through in his tunes more than most musicians.
