Twitter

Twitter is the stupidest thing, I got one about 2.5 years ago, made a bunch of dumb cocaine-fuelled updates about taking drugs in the toilet with my now-ex girlfriend, and then promptly forgot all about it. Now in the past few months it's gone global and I have friends and family adding me out of the blue, seeing all this incriminating/dubious information, and I can't even delete it because I can't remember what ny phone number was back then.

If you follow good stuff then it is great.

I still don't understand it. Why is it popular? Whenever I go to a twitter I my eyes just see a bunch of nonsense jibberish. Is it like a blog? Why do I need it? Somebody said it is mostly for cell-phones?

i follow accts that link to a lot of things I like to read & digest, that post funny insightful things that brighten my pale computer screen.. i live in a rural suburb atm, so its an easier way to stay connected to things... like comic & music news

facebook can be damn useful though to keep in touch with people who live nowhere near you. a lot of it's pointless though

it does help stay in contact, but it shouldn't be a constant obsession

I use it to keep up with local breweries, restaurants, farmer's markets and my favorite food blogs. And Felicia Day :heart:

twitter is useful in a lot of ways that aren't immediately apparent. i really like the search feature. it lets you get an aggregate of opinion with little effort. and you can see instant reactions to events within seconds of them happening. the news is on twitter before it's on the news.

i enjoyed reading charlie brooker's tweets after gameswipe last night.

i used it once. stopped. it did get a bit wank.

i use facebook for the same kind of shit now.
