I need to get a cable put through to my new room I think and add some WATMMers. Squee, get back on the Xbox, it's been too long.

Too long? I've been online almost constantly lately

fux0rs!

Go buy Battlefield1943. Now.

leaked Walmart, Target & Best Buy ads are stating Xbox 360 Elite will drop in price this weekend to $299, and 360 Pro will be $249 until stock runs out, (Pro is being discontinued). grab dat shit!

Positive Metal Attitude

Actually, I'm quite sure it still happens a lot. GTA IV for example was upscaled from 640p, the Xbox version was running on 720. You should also check out the Eurogamer comparisons. They compare (or used to compare) each game on techs, framerates and visuals. I guess the problem is a lot of the games are being developed on 360 and then ported. That job tends to look rushed.

And is being patched for it - nice try, though!

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST

put down the crack pipe and listen to me.

this game SHIPPED and was SOLD with 25% worse resolution than the Xbox 360 version. This patch is coming out 6+ weeks after it was released in response to criticism. The point is, this game was released shittier on PS3. Full fucking stop. So much for superior hardware.

That can't be the PS3's fault, it was around WAY before that crappily-rendered game was conceived.

first, fucking lol @ overreaction

second, do you honestly think it was the hardware that caused it to be that way? No, dippo - the programmers obviously either cut corners (possibly to meet a deadline) or didn't have a handle on the PS3's hardware when they did this game - the very fact that they went back, took their time and fixed the issue (along with some others related to Trophies), proves that the hardware is not inferior whatsoever.

The fact that you program (web-based stuff, yeah, whole different world than compiling code for a game console) astounds me that you couldn't work that out on your own.

you are aware that game developers have universally stated that the PS3 software architecture is much harder to code for than 360, right? did it ever occur to you that maybe this is a side-effect of that?

Joyrex, watch this video and think about what you are doing... think about Sony and all the big CEO's sitting up at the top of a sky-scraper, while you sit at your house in Texas and promote their products, so they can make more money and you can... feel better about your video game console?

I understand you are a fan, but defending poorly designed hardware (power doesn't mean much, ask Carmack) and criticizing the software developers for not "figuring it out," -- is essentially working for the man.

Well, yes, of course - but it boils down to each dev team's skill levels, and how they architect their application (in this case, a game engine) and to what hardware it's suited for. Your argument would hold water if it weren't for the fact that games like Killzone 2, Uncharted 2: Among Theives, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, etc. weren't all well-programmed games, and a showcase of what kind of power the PS3 has, when utilized correctly. The PS2 was initially criticized for being "hard to program for" since everyone was used to PS1/Dreamcast coding. After a few years, those kind of complaints trailed off as developers were able to learn the hardware and utilize it's features.

The fact that Terminal Reality, the developers behind the Ghostbusters game, have a very limited list of games they've made, and this being their first PS3 game, I'm glad they did the responsible thing and released a patch to bring the PS3 version up to parity with the 360 version.

Sure, it just takes a little understanding for most people to realize what we are talking about are machines made of plastic, metal, and silicon... that serve to offer each person their own unique entertainment experience. Which one is the best is irrelevant because there is no "best"... it's all subjective, just like music, movies, and food.
