complete oversimplification but korn/slipknot > pitchshifter/prodigy/nin > dnb/breakcore > aphex/pusher/snares is how i progressed from ages 12 to 16. oddly i was making some melodic ambient stuff on a SU700 sometime around the slipknot/pitchshifter stage. probably a big brother influencing me with massive attack.

i got into korn when i was 11 years old and i still retain a residual like for them. i like the harmonies, even if the lyrics are embarrassing. i would say issues is also an album that i like aswell as the first two. limp bizkit no.

Yeah one thing I can agree with is that Jon Davis' lyrics are that of a whiny crybaby.

The guitar work is fucking epic though, not really in terms of technical skill but rather in terms of experimentation.

Its funny how my musical taste runs from korn/lb to slipknot to tool, primus, and all the way to autechre and other idm

bad taste in metal, good taste in electronic music

i used to be a great great great fan of korn. i still love their albums. also, slipknot.

deftones are great too.

Fuck it then someone recommend me some good metal/alternative rock that has a higher ratio of melodic singing than screaming.

I just dont really enjoy constant vocal anguish, I want to listen to some creepy moody stuff. I love the shit out of tool and primus if that helps, but I cant stand bands like alexisonfire and protest the hero because of the incredibly epic heroic tone the vocals take.

primus was not included in my complaints of 'wigger metal'. primus is hippy prog metal funk

Alexisonfire? More like Adanisonfire!

The emo girls love it. :spiteful:
