Sing With Voices began as an experiment in patience.

Afteryears of being a session player for Boston electro-pop juggernautslike Passion Pit and Yes Giantess, B. Young moved to a smallone-bedroom in Brooklyn and started, for the first time, to compose hisown music.

Over the course of an unusually productive fivemonths, Sing With Voices eschewed the familiar big beat sounds of HotChip and MGMT and cuddled with Dazzle Ships, Computer World, andEinstein on the Beach. He drank cranberry juice and read Simone deBeauvoir. He also made some music.

Though all five songs on In Gaseosa have their ownflavor, they all push towards one unifying message. "Under" is apulsing throwback to 80s acid house, while "Lighthouse" at oncerecollects shades of Squarepusher and B. Fleischmann. "Minsk" is anexperiment in intervals a la Steve Reich, while "Nectarine" dabbles incharcoal-black pop.
