he's one of my favorite composer/producer, since that lovely EP (cant remember its name) on rephlex, i bought every records he made & its truly great. astrobotnia is easily his peak but he has loads of great tracks (from onclements to boom blaster). check out his myspace for bonus trax. he used to release more in the past but remember the record industry is sinking & its gettings truly complicate to put out a record without losing money. i bet some full lenght should see the light soon or later.

Part 3 is really fucking good. I hadn't listened to it in yrs, but wow. Seemed fresh, fun and incredibly well-made. And pleasantly through-composed.

Astrobotnia Part 03 is my favorite, then probably Part 00 ! Such rich color and texture, great metric weaving and juxtaposition. Sentimenthol of Mental Union is pretty special with a great video i thought. Love all the Aleski titled albums, became interested in mainly Wasted Sunday Afternoon under his Ovuca pseudonym. Also yea a few rare tunes on his Myspace page well worth checking out. Excited for the upcoming release, Colundi Sequence..

yep. it's one of those albums that make people who aren't into electronic music (aka electronic music = david guetta) change their mind about it.

it remains one the best albums i've heard

very very high. one of the best records rephlex ever put out. part one and two especially. part 3 never clicked with me the same as the two first.

My first recollection of Ovuca back in the day. This video, and the tunes on his first album just had that rephlex goodness. He stole the show at a Rephlex party in 2001sh. Some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Also love Astrobotnia, Cylobotnia, and the music under his real name. A true charmer. That video above takes me back to some good times.

i'm kinda wasted on a sunday morning but actually listening to MU2 & MU3 instead, i love those bells/harmonics stuff in the background. those 2 records did truly grow on me. a great one is the Boom Blaster MP3 release. weird it was not released on cd or lp. cant wait to listen to the forthcoming Colundi sequence stuff.

Been jamming to the Astrobotnias alot again lately, noticing on 00 that according to discogs the album has 14 tracks.

The version I have from bandcamp is 13 tracks.

Anybody know where the track #3 "N-Dimension" can be tracked down to purchase?

would love a "complete collection"

these are just god-tier idm no two ways about it

I'd say along with Boom Blaster and Wasted Sunday, the Astrobotnia releases are among his best.

If you ever wonder where the weird sketch bits in Astrobotnia II Track 5 comes from it's an old Finnish comedy movie called "Näköradiomiehen Ihmeelliset Siekailut"

The track is at 18:12:

For example the long bit after the first half is here at 20:23

There's a bunch of other references to Finnish culture in the Astrobotnia releases, starting from the name which is a pun on Ostrobothnia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrobothnia_(region)

And Asidofilus Bifidus refers to Valio AB piimä which is a common fermented milk sold in Finland.

Just some fun facts for the non-Finns here..
